This is a trip report to the Maldives. Oops, I made a mistake in calculating my trip expenses to the Maldives in my last post! I forgot the airfare on Maldivian Air to our destination – $450. This was a flat fee on the national airline (the only one)! So my total cost was $1,135 for a $19,435 trip!
We flew Cathay Pacific to Hong Kong and stopped for a few hours before flying on to the Maldives. The airport lounges were all accessible to us because of our business class ticket. We visited three of them and they were all different, but SO much better than the lounges in US airports! They were light, airy, with friendly people, and tons of food!
There is so much food, but we were so full from all the food on our flights, we couldn’t eat a bite! This is just one small place for food.
Here’s the coffee bar and fresh brewed coffee made by this kind gentleman!
They had a multitude of rooms. One lounge had two sides – the quieter side and the noisy side, and each side had numerous seating areas.
They even had a “smoothie bar.” We tried one, but I didn’t get a photo.
Bathrooms were quite “posh” and we availed ourselves of a shower as soon as we arrived!
Overall, a very relaxing place to wait for your next flight…
Next, Hong Kong…
Looks quite posh. I like the idea of a shower while waiting for your next flight. And the food selection looked quite good too. I did get the IHG credit card this week with 60,000 points. Yahoo! June
